The fifth Fish Creek Tea Cosy Festival will be held from Saturday 16 May to Sunday 24 May 2020.
Back Roads, main roads, side roads – all roads lead to Fish Creek for the 2020 Fish Creek Tea Cosy Festival. Commencing with the official opening on Saturday 16 May, the festival runs for nine days and concludes with the High Tea on Sunday 24 May.
The iconic Tea Cosy Exhibition is again the feature event and will be held in the Fish Creek Memorial Hall for the duration of the festival.
The festival theme, Cosies Through the Ages, is sure to spark the fertile imaginations of tea cosy creators everywhere! Art Deco to Fabulous Fifties, Swinging Sixties or Seventies Punk to Eighties Bling, or even cosies inspired by an imagined future…so many avenues for creative expression.
More info about the Tea Cosy Competition.
The first weekend of the festival is shaping up nicely. We are working with Tea Cosy Competition judge Ramona Barry to present two workshops, the London Drum will be running a specialty tea class, and it goes without saying that there will be Devonshire teas!
The first weekend will also see a Guinness World Record attempt for the largest tea cosy…ever. Crafted by Di McDonald and her team of volunteers, this cosy was commenced in 2018 and is over five metres high.
The second weekend of the festival will start with the Bendigo Bank Market Day on Saturday 23 May, which will be a family and community focussed day connecting country and city folk. There will be craft and food stalls, live music and entertainment for children.
The festival will wind up on Sunday 24 May with High Tea. Scrumptious food prepared by the South Gippsland Hospital Auxiliary will complement the conversation with some very special guests. More info on that soon!
