You know it’s Tea Cosy Festival time in Fish Creek when someone has jammed a tea cosy on their fencepost! Oh. Or is it a beanie. Either way, the Fishy locals are into it and we are ready to go. Our tea cosy judge Robyn Lauder was wowed by the crafty creativity and the exhibition is looking great.
Tea Cosy Competition winners will be announced at the official festival opening, 10.30am tomorrow at the Fish Creek Memorial Hall.
Take a look at the Festival Program for info about all the events we have planned for the next nine days!
Visit the Hub on both weekends of the festival for Creative Brews, an exhibition of botanical art coupled with tastings of Organic Tea Box teas.
Local community groups will be offering Devonshire Teas at the Hall over both weekends (14 & 15 May, 21 May). Here’s a word from our festival tea sponsor, The London Drum Tea Co. about Devonshire Tea.
Sunday 15 May – Tea Essentials (everything you didn’t think you needed to know about tea) and the Tea and Cheese Pairing Experience (ways to pair tea with cheese, like you never knew that was a thing).
Thursday 19 May – locals will be organising the Biggest Morning Tea at the Fish Creek Hotel to raise funds for the Cancer Council.
Saturday 21 May is the Bendigo Bank Market Day, but it is also International Tea Day. This day was created as part of the United Nation’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. You can organise your own International Tea Day Party and register it here.
Sunday 22 May means High Tea, and it will be a festival highlight. Catering by the South Gippsland Hospital Auxiliary, raising funds for our local hospital. Music by Roxanne Viggiano. Bookings essential.
Plus check out what the local cafes have on offer, they do like to get into the spirit of things!
