Craft Stall @ The Hall – Leongatha Sew and Knit

Waste Knot with Sarah Parkes
Join artist and designer Sarah Parkes for an afternoon of crafting rope from recycled materials. Learn the art of twisting cord by hand and experiment on Sarah’s drill powered rope maker. Explore the beauty and potential of working with waste materials to create durable and practical rope.
Sarah will provide remnant silage wrap and other materials, while participants are encouraged to supply their own soft plastics, old clothing, textiles and paper. Together you will explore different materials for unexpected outcomes.
Sarah will also teach some knots and techniques to create a small work with your rope. By the end of the session you will have a greater understanding of this ancient craft and be able to use these

The Kitchen Table
Community Embroidery Project hosted by The Handmakers Store
Visitors are invited to participate in the creation of an embroidered tablecloth.
Make yourself a cup of tea. Take a seat at our table, take a needle and thread and embroider a flower.
All tools will be supplied, patterns will be available to follow or you can design your own.
When: 12noon-4pm and then each day 10-4 until 24 May

The session will explore the ethos behind Tea Tonic, highlighting how each sip is focused on taste, health and well being. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to sample the Tea Tonic range while engaging directly with Lisa, asking questions and delving further into the world of health and wellness through tea. Whether you’re a tea enthusiast, health aficionado, or simply curious, this workshop promises to enrich your understanding of natural health practices and inspire a deeper connection with the teas you love.
