In response to the COVID-19 pandemic the 2020 Fish Creek Tea Cosy Festival events were cancelled. The Festival Committee made this decision reluctantly, but we felt we must respond to our duty of care to visitors, participants and local community members.
However, in defiance of COVID-19, we decided to still hold the Tea Cosy Competition, albeit in a modified format. We know how much thought and work cosy creators put into their entries, and it seemed just too disappointing to cancel the competition.
After much brainstorming and many cups of tea, we decided that one tea cosy competition wasn’t enough to keep us (or you) occupied. So we ran TWO tea cosy competitions – the e-Cosy Competition (the competition for crafters and makers that has always been the focus of the festival) and #teacosiesinisolation (an Instagram competition).
