Waste Knot with Sarah Parkes
Join artist and designer Sarah Parkes for an afternoon of crafting rope from recycled materials. Learn the art of twisting cord by hand and experiment on Sarah’s drill powered rope maker. Explore the beauty and potential of working with waste materials to create durable and practical rope.
Sarah will provide remnant silage wrap and other materials, while participants are encouraged to supply their own soft plastics, old clothing, textiles and paper. Together you will explore different materials for unexpected outcomes.
Sarah will also teach some knots and techniques to create a small work with your rope. By the end of the session you will have a greater understanding of this ancient craft and be able to use these

Community Embroidery Project hosted by The Handmakers Store
