Having spent over 35 years making things, largely in the solid timber furniture sector, Andy has built up phenomenal skills. He’s now turned those skills to making beautiful things. Andy’s gift is to see beauty where others may not and then, by presenting it in the right way, they can see it also. Sometimes that is as simple as lifting it from the ground and placing it on the wall. At other times it requires a great deal of manipulation. Knowing which to do is part of Andy’s creative magic. You will often find him in the workshop next to the gallery space creating the next piece.

Get full on with Fair Isle with Pru Raymond. 

Develop techniques to make your colourwork stitches pop, and your floats so beautiful you’ll want to wear your jumpers inside out. Learn to slice your knitting open like a pro, and add bands and cuffs. Leave with a new level of confidence to cast on more advanced Stranded Colourwork projects.

Materials: 4mm circular knitting needle with 80cm circumference for Magic Loop or DPNs. 2 x 50g balls of 8 ply/DK non-superwash yarn in solid/semi solid colours with high contrast (ie.one white/very light coloured yarn and one mid to dark coloured yarn).
Skill Level: This class is designed for knitters to improve and extend their Stranded Colourwork skills to include better yarn management strategies, consistent with colour dominance, catching floats (how, why and when), and steeking (‘unfinished’ method). Experience of Magic Loop recommended but not essential.
Pru Raymond has sold out knitting workshops and stackable retreats in yarn stores, knitting festivals and community centres Australia-wide, and in yarn stores on tHE east and west coast of USA. Pru has worked as a qualified teacher for almost 20 years. She combines her expertise as a professional educator and her lifelong passion for knitting to develop original, engaging knitting workshops that are inclusive of all learners. Pru has an in-depth knowledge of diverse styles and techniques and demonstrates new skills in English, Combination an Continental Styles. The iconic Fishy Pub has a selection of baked goods and tea available for when your enthusiasm is strong but your body needs sustenance. Pop in for afternoon tea and cake revivals between 2 - 5pm during the festival !

While you are there check out local artist, Caron Jenkins, whose paintings represent the beauty of the Gippsland and Fish Creek environments. This area provides a never ending inspiration for her art.

The Fishy Pub is open 12pm - 1am daily for lunch and dinner (or a refreshing bevvie).

Trevor and Julie at Fish Creek’s very own Long John Pickles present a hands-on workshop learning to process a jar of Dill Pickles. There’ll be pickles tastings, general pickling information and at the end of the session you get to take home your very own jar of pickles! 

Beverages and Berrys Creek Gourmet Cheese tasting included. Yummo!

Join Sarah for an introduction to needle felting using raw alpaca and sheep wool from her own farm. Explore colour, texture and pattern as you create a small felted piece to take home, with a glass of wine or non-alcoholic drink and a shared cheese platter included.

Sarah Parkes is an artist/designer who knots and weaves narratives of place and home into her sculptural rope works, creating a personal topography of her life and surroundings. Sarah’s endless curiosity informs her drive to explore, experimentand push the boundaries of knotting and materiality in both her artworks, commercial interior installations and commercial products.
