Weaving Native Grass Tea Coasters – Cassie Fisher Patterson

Here’s something very special. Learn to weave tea coasters with native grasses using the coil technique with native grasses local to the area. Listen to shared stories of First Nations weaving while learning the process of harvest, plants used and process to weave.
Cassie Fisher Patterson is a Djaara (Dja Dja Wurrung) artist, jeweller and fashion designer, master weaver bushtukka woman and cultural educator. She is WILD BLAK and ARTS will inspire and unite.
Fees from this workshop go to Cassie’s wildlife rehabilitation project, building aviaries, feeding and medical aid for animals and birds, planting native flora for environmental conservation for future generations of animals and people.
Cassie will also be presenting Bushtukka Tea Brews on Sunday 24 – catch them both!
